His music and aesthetic have continually evolved, and he’s known for energetic live performances using a keytar. Beyond music, he's scored for film, games, and amusement parks, and co-founded Creaky Lantern Games, creators of “Street Cleaner: The Video Game.” The sequel, “Street Cleaner 3,” is now out, expanding the universe and platforming gameplay. You can also check out more of his music here.

Watch Out For Snakes

With a high-energy, keytar-fueled stage show rooted in a hardcore/punk upbringing, Baum has performed alongside acts like Com Truise, The Protomen, Makeup and Vanity Set, Bitshifter, Master Boot Record, The Megas, Nullsleep, Arcade High, Street Cleaner, and Tim Capello. Baum also co-produced The Midnight’s 2024 single “Chariot,” and released pixel-animated video single “Dark Roads, No Reception” as WOFS in early 2025.
ECLECTOTRON
Performing Friday, May 1st at 9pm
Eclectotron is a scrappy crew of music dweebs and sci-fi aficionados from across Southern California. With a penchant for dramatic expression and a taste for eclectic nostalgia, Eclectotron slings space operas and synth rock beats with retro futuristic vibes, channeling uniquely familiar sounds from the 1970s to the early 2000s and beyond. Heroic female lead vocals soar over haunting guitars and dancing synth lines, supported with a backbone of live drums and classic electric bass. Come listen to what the future could have been. New album “Galactic Trash” coming in March, check out the announcement here!

NEO’s Best-Dressed Showcase
(Costume Contest)
Wanna show off your spacesuit? How many LED strips are you using in that hat? What about those found-object greeblies you incorporated into your mask? This is the place to be to see the best-dressed citizens of Neotropolis!
Head to The Core (Main Stage) at 7pm to participate.
NEO quests, cyberpunk cars,
Beyblade Tournaments, NIGHTCLUBS,
and MUCH more.
If you’re interested in augmenting your LARP experience at Neotropolis, you may want to pledge to an Allegiance. These are officially sanctioned groups that will give you NEO Quests, missions, and special surprises for those who participate. You can learn more about the three main Allegiances here.
There are several Factions within the Theme Zone who also offer a variety of LARP experiences, so keep your eyes open for opportunities!
And who knew Beyblade “Aggressive Tops” would become the big spectator sport of the future? Expect more than one tournament throughout the event in various locations, including inside the Kaiju Nightclub.
You might see some out-of-this-world rides. You can apply for a GRID RIDER permit for your themed vehicle, which will allow you to be able to drive around (5 MPH, please!) the event at night!
LASER TAG / DISC COMBAT
This year, we have a brand new arena for laser tag matches! Look for it near The Core. There will be obstacles to hide behind and special lighting at night.
We will be using the RECOIL game system for this. It's a discontinued product, but it still works well, and you can find blasters on eBay. We do have ready-to-go laser weapons (including the Spitfire, Rogue, and even the Frag Grenades), for you to rent for free! Because the system requires the use of an iPhone (the Android version of the app was difficult to install), some people weren’t able to play because of that. But for this year, we have eight iPhones available for you to check out along with the blasters. That means we can have 4-on-4 matches, even if you don’t have your own iPhone, and if some players DO have their own iPhone to use, matches can go up to as many as 6-on-6! You can also bring your own headphones to enhance the experience (although they’d need to be the ol standard 3.5 mm round kind to work with this model of rental iPhone).
We’ll have match monitors available to referee the games.
It’s fine if you want to bring your own Recoil blasters- but no advantage mods, please! We recommend those using iPhone download the Recoil app (icon pictured) prior to the event. Laser gear is checked out daytime and nighttime at The Gaming Dome (bring your drivers license to leave for the rental).
We’re also adding an LED frisbee combat arena this year!
We provide everything for you! Stop by the gaming dome to get instructions and gear.
Laser tag will be available both day and night and disc combat will be available after sundown. (Our event-provided helmets and visors are required for entering the disc arena. Protective gear is not required for the laser field. Attendees will need to leave a drivers license for gear rental).
The Laser Combat League- bringing the best in laser sports to Neotropolis!
GAMING
Stop in at Neotropolis’s
Retro Gaming Dome!
We have 8 bit, 16bit, and more!
Atari 2600 games? Check! Over 100 of them! Want arcade games? Our emulators are equipped with just about every golden age arcade game ever made!
We even have a special NEO GEO station!
What’s that? You have actual cartridges? Priceless relics of the “blow-it-off and plug-it-in era”? Well bring ‘em! We have a cyberdeck wonder of a machine that can take actual Nintendo classic, SNES, *and* Sega Genesis cartridges! Dogs and cats living together! MASS HYSTERIA!
We even plan to screen-project matches, so you can square off to the adoration and humiliation of the crowd in epic Street Fighter II (and other) battles!
Did someone say Beyblades?…no? Well WE did!! Bring your Beyblades to square off with ATFL (Aggressive Tops Fighting League)!
The Retro Gaming Dome tent will be open from approximately 1pm to 1am every day and every visitor gets a vintage game token from the Bit Boss! (while supplies last)
And last but not least, we’ll even have a little tabletop gaming for you (bring your own chair)!
